Just a few days after the last post, the sunflowers all fell over during a tropical storm. I propped them up for a few days, but they just wouldn't stay up in the mud. This was probably for the best, since sunlight wasn't getting through to my fall crop.

The broccoli has been growing very quickly since the cooler weather set in. Please don't tell The Monolo about my shoes.
Here's a close up (XCU). You can see that something was eating it, but the plants seem to be growing anyway.

Carrots growing like champs. Need to plant more next year. On the right is a collard plant. One of my neighbor gardeners was thinning hers out and offered me several dozen (!!). I hope some of them stick and grow before the cold weather comes.

Lettuce. Some varmit (rabbit?) keeps eating whole plants. The few that are left are really bitter. Why!? Arg!

The tomatoes died rather gradually in September.

After fighting off disease all summer, they didn't need much of an excuse to just give up and wilt away. Poor things.
