Well, the garden got off to a late start, since I was working off-site for most of May. I also have a smaller garden because more people signed up to garden, so the plot had to be divided into smaller sub-plots. Infuriatingly, a full 1/4 of these people never planted anything, so I lost my land to weeds. Ok, cleansing breath. <WHOOOOooooo!>

The tomatoes got in early, and are growing quickly. This year I have:
Cherry tomatoes: Isis Candy (yellow/red streaks), Reisenstraub (red)
Medium tomatoes: Taxi (yellow), Ramapo (red)
Larger tomatoes: Cosmonaut Volkov (red), Dad's Sunset (orange)
All of them have flowers now. The taxi (the only determinate) has several little tomatoes going, and the Volkov has one.

Of course, I also have beets (yellow and chioggia) and chardlings. I could pretty much live on chard and beets, but somehow, I never get the beets to germinate well.

I'm growing lemon cucumbers again, knowing the cucumber beetles will destroy them eventually. They're so fast and easy to grow, why the heck not?

And I'm growing sunflowers again. Right now they are about 6 inches tall.
But this year, I've really gone cookoo for curcubits. Besides the aforementioned cukes, I have zucchini, yellow squash, and (drumroll) THREE KINDS of winter squash. The winter squashlings are especially cute right now. I'm looking forward to a cellar full of golden goodness when the weather turns cold and dark. And won't James be pleased to have pumpkin dinners every Sunday from October to March?

Other crops not pictured: basil, purple carrots (teeny sprouts), and ground cherries (never germinated, presumed dead).
