And here's today's exciting update!

sunflower welcomes you

The first sunflower finally opened (but only half way!) this weekend.

squash twins zukezilla, the zucchini that ate PG county

Like many gardeners, I'm eating nothing but zucchini these days. On the right is one that was finger size on Friday, and by Monday it was as long as my forearm. The arrows point to two more on the way (and another underneath the bottom arrow, actually. Great.)

ichiban

ridiculous fairy tale

The ichiban (on left) is healthy looking and produced a real live eggplant this week. The fairy tale (on right), as you may recall, didn't grow any larger than my hand before it produced an eggplant as tall as itself. And now, it has sprouted another baby!

Bonus fact: "Ichiban" is one of Tuna's many aliases.

zebra tomato triplets

"But, how are the tomatoes?" you ask. You WOULD ask that. Well, put it this way: there are lots of fruit, but none are ripe. I wonder if the other plants read this blog and are punishing mommy for having a favorite, a.k.a. the lovely Zebra. Well, let me say this 'maters: show me the fruits!

Everything else is progressing well enough. The cucumbers and pumpkin have spread everywhere. I hope we get a few cukes before the cucumber beetles kill 'em all.

and so it goes.
